OUR STORY
In Vancouver, Canada, in 1912, H.E Goldberg, I. Jacobson and Leo Goldberg began building a dream. As with every new company, Jacobson, Goldberg & Company at times found the early going slow and rugged, but with their formula for success – always buying goods from (or closes to) the original source, and never mixing different geographic sections, they began to grow.
In 1919, having sprouted into quite a formidable company for that era, Jacobson, Goldberg & Company moved south to Seattle, where Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and the Rocky Mountains were all within easy operational reach. Soon the firm emerged as one of the largest individual handlers of raw furs from Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
A generation passed, management and personnel gradually changed, and the firm name evolved into H.E. Goldberg & Company (HEGCO). But the same success formula carried on – deal in only top-quality goods and products, and service the needs of the individual customer with honesty and integrity.
Son of founder H.E. Goldberg, J. Irwin Goldberg took over the reigns and the company experienced a period of worldwide growth, solidifying its reputation as one of the largest and strongest independent buyers of raw furs from the finest producing regions of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. At the same time, H.E. Goldberg & Company became a notable importer of high quality hides and furs.
The next generation of Goldbergs has now transformed the company into a manufacturer of high quality brands in the personal care and beauty field. H.E. Goldberg & Company is now located at an impressive office and warehouse facility close to Sea-Tac International Airport. The company continues along its successful path, and looks enthusiastically toward the future.
From its beginnings as Jacobson, Goldberg & Company back in 1912, H.E. Goldberg & Company has thrived by always adhering to a formula of integrity, quality, and service. It has been over 105 years since the start, yet somehow it seems like only the beginning.
